Shaker Square before sunset on Saturdays: Cleveland Remembers
July 21, 2011 – 4:41 pmShaker Square before sunset on Saturdays: Cleveland Remembers
Shaker Square in 1985.
I remember the old pharmacy (now it’s a Yours Truly) on Shaker Square that my mother & I would walk to on Saturdays nights just before sunset to buy candy & comic books (Jughead, Archie & the Gang & Superman were my favorites).
We would walk around Shaker Square for a bit & then head for our home on Becket Road waving hello to our friends on South Moreland and the surrounding streets along the way.
Sometimes I drove my Big Wheel (Does anyone else remember the Big Wheels?) in front of my ma and let the wind whip through those long, colorful stringy things that were attached to the handlebars.. Man I loved that bike!
