A proposal at the Ohio Statehouse would require teens to learn CPR before they can get a driver’s license. COLUMBUS, Ohio — A proposal at the Ohio Statehouse would require teens to learn CPR before they can get a driver’s license.
License applicants under 18 would have to show they passed an approved first-aid and CPR course, under the bill introduced Tuesday by Republican state Rep. Cheryl Grossman of suburban Columbus.
Grossman says in a statement that the training will give the young people a skill for a lifetime that they can use to save lives.
She says her proposal has the support of Ohio fire chiefs, the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross.
